The philosophy of our breeding programText Box: “Breeding a Champion is not a science but an art that once mastered all your offspring’s become genetic masterpieces.”

With over 25 years of experience breeding and training Paso Fino horses Tres-R Paso Fino has develop a unique method in identifying and concentrating the genetic qualities that one needs to achieve maximum results. This breeding method using the selection procedure requires extensive knowledge in studying bloodlines to find the right combination to produce outstanding classic fino horses. Our selective group of mares have all the genetic qualities in their X-Factor to maximize the potential in producing and transmitting to their offspring’s the refined collected fino gait. The Stallion also plays a vital role in this genetic formula but our main focus and efforts are heavily put on the Mare and her genetic prepotency, the stallion merely complements her, but the Mare is the one that carries the genetic load in determining the final outcome of an offspring. A stallion that wins in the show ring is not the only determining factor of a good producer, there is more to being a good producer than blue ribbons, at Tres-R Paso Fino we study the stallions bloodlines mainly his X-Factor, than later we analyze his Y-Factor and plot this data with the X-Factor of our fabulous Mares and you clearly see a patterns of fino gait begin to emerge from the genetic pool taking into account the previous ancestors of the Mare and Stallion the results can be amazing.

There is more than meets the eye when it comes to breeding a champion and it takes a visionary to see beyond the horizon visualizing the champion that you want and carefully mapping and planning a breeding program to achieve this goal. We at Tres-R Paso Fino have created our own bloodlines. The proof is in the pudding as they say; so we invite you to come and see our horses and you will be amaze at our results with only a handful of well breed Mares remembering that quantity does not always equate to quality.
